Here, I provide copies of my résumé, Common Cirriculum Vitae (CCV), and administrative transcripts to give summaries of my professional, research, and academic endeavors, respectively. As stated in my career goals, I believe in being open about my work. That includes all of my important work experience and detailed accounts of my research and schoolwork. *Importantly, I can only present a "draft" version of my CCV, as official documents are only meant for submitting to potential research funding sources*.
My CCV highlights my profile as a researcher, both in presentations I have given and research areas I continue to pursue. For more specific examples of my work here, check out any of the pages under Academics.
As you'll see in my résumé, my past work experiences do not exactly share a central theme. My first real job at the Kitimat Fire hall taught me a lot about emergency preparedness and being calm under pressure, skills that aren't always easy for an anxious teenager to appreciate. Similiar skills helped me in the high stress Scholars Edge job, where I faced countless problems that led to working over 80 hours a week. Despite great mental and physical challenge, above all else this job taught me about honesty. When dealing with many clients involving deals that were very important to them as homeowners, honesty about what I could and could not do was imperative for strong relationships. Finally, my current position as a paid researcher has lead to numerous learning oppurtunities. For more information on how my lab work has shaped my professional experiences, check out my pages on Academics.
My administrative transcript reflects my grades in the four years of my undergraduate degree. I posted marks from all four years to be transparent about areas I lacked in. In my first year, I struggled with the transition to univeristy and recevied grades I was not satisfied with. To help adjust, next year I took a lighter course load. That year was more helpful for building better study habits and showing more interest in my school work. Since, I have especially excelled in courses related to neuroscience, such as my directed studies and advanced seminar classes. If anything, this shows me that choosing my current career path is the right choice for me, and my abilities and interest are congruent when it comes to neuroscience.
